Jesus did not just tell the disciples to serve others, He showed them how and when they were to do so. How? By taking on the mindset of a servant. When? Whenever the opportunity presented itself they were to take off their garments and serve someone else.
The Lord provides unconditional, unbiased, unwavering and sacrificial love. If we love people in this manner we should also joyfully serve them in this manner.
While the working of miracles showed Jesus’ authority, the washing of His disciples’ feet showed His humility.
Serving others in the midst of confusion shows that we are vulnerable to openly love those who may not fully understand or value our purpose.
Humility places us at the feet of Jesus. Great things happen at the feet and in the presence of Jesus.
As soon as Peter’s mother-in-law was healed by Jesus she showed her gratitude by immediately getting up to serve Him and others.
After everything that Jesus had done and experienced He willingly served someone in Peter’s house who was under-served and overlooked; all because there was a need. Servants serve when needed and not just when convenient.
When we expect great things we continue to move forward regardless of present challenges. That is why we are praying today to live with expectation and anticipation of the great things God will manifest for us.
It is important that we thank God each time we receive and share. Just as He provides for us today, God will provide for us tomorrow. He provides our daily bread. He is our Daily Bread. That is why we are praying to embrace all God has for us today.
Many are complaining about the political and personal decisions of our elected officials. Complaints do not bring change nor do they ever bring peace. Only the presence of God can bring peace. That is why we are praying today for the President and all in positions of governmental authority.
