2018 7 Days of Fasting and Prayer

7 Days of Prayer and Fasting: Day 7 – December 9, 2018. Based on “Experiencing God” by Henry and Richard Blackaby and Claude King

From December 3, 2018 – December 9, 2018 we are praying and fasting 12 hours per day (6am – 6pm) only drinking water.

Read:  Luke 9:18 – 27

Memory verse: Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. 24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

In Luke 9, Jesus says that adjustments are necessary if we are going to be with Him. Every time God speaks to us about something He wants to do, He expects us to realign our lives in some way. When we make the adjustments, we can see God accomplish His purposes through us. To join God we must believe that He is Who He says He is and that He will do what He said He will do. This makes it easier for us to adjust our life to Him. Too often we turn a blind eye to ourselves and those we love and, like Saul in 1 Samuel 15, we tell God to adjust to us, which shows that we love us and others more than we love Jesus.

We cannot serve God from our couch or the comfort of our home. To be Jesus’ disciple, we must be where He is both physically and spiritually. If you choose to make the necessary adjustments, you can go on to obedience. Obedience begins in the heart and is expressed through action, by words and deeds.

 Pray today:
1. To remain obedient to the present move of God in our lives,
2. To not hesitate to make the necessary adjustments to be who and where God would have us to be, and
3. To have the obedience to help bring others to Jesus, even if it is outside of our normal comfort zone.

After you read and pray throughout the day, be sure to take time to listen for God to respond. Keep a journal to record what you hear Him say.
