2018 7 Days of Fasting and Prayer

7 Days of Prayer and Fasting: Day 2 – December 4, 2018. Based on “Experiencing God” by Henry and Richard Blackaby and Claude King

From December 3, 2018 – December 9, 2018 we are praying and fasting 12 hours per day (6am – 6pm) only drinking water.

Read: Matthew 6:26 – 33

Memory verse: Matthew 6: 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

God alone wants to be the focus of our love without any competitors. There is nothing higher or greater than to be loved by God. He will accept us with morning breath, uncombed hair and crackers in the corners of our eyes. That is not to say we should not want to look “presentable” when coming before Him, but it is to say He will not judge or reject us if we are unable to do so. While God allows us to come as we are, it is a blessing to know that we do not leave like we came. In an effort to enjoy a love relationship with mankind, God has always come to us in love. It was in love that God came to: Adam and Eve after the fall. It was in love that God came to Abraham even though he had committed adultery. It was in love that God came to Moses, even though he had killed an Egyptian. It was in love that God came to Noah, even though he became drunk. It was in love that God came to the apostles, even though they all had their respective issues and challenges.

Sin causes us to not seek God, but thank God that He came to us in love. We must be convinced that God loves the real, broken us and not ashamed to declare: “Yes, Jesus loves me!” and that is why we seek Him first.

Pray today:
1. To place and keep The Lord first in our lives,
2. To stand vulnerable and transparent before The Lord without any pretense, and
3. To intentionally help the unsaved to know that The Lord loves them.

After you read and pray throughout the day, be sure to take time to listen for God to respond. Keep a journal to record what you hear Him say.
