7 Days of Prayer and Fasting: Day 7 – September 23, 2018

From September 17, 2018 – September 23, 2018 we are praying and fasting 12 hours per day (6am – 6pm) only drinking water.

Day 7: September 23, 2018

Read:  Acts 2:3 – 4

Memory verse: Acts 2:And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Holy Ghost manifested Himself on the Day Pentecost by providing the promised indwelling and infilling to the 120 disciples who had fasted and prayed for 10 days in an upper room in Jerusalem. An evidence of the infilling was that they fluidly spoke with other tongues which they had not formally learned. The disciples did not speak in other tongues to prove that they were filled, but so that the people of other nationalities who had traveled to Jerusalem for the Feast of Pentecost could hear the gospel in their native language and have the opportunity to become saved.

Speaking in tongues is just one evidence of the infilling. In every instance of being filled a Christian may be described as being full of The Spirit if they consistently allow themselves to be influenced by Holy Spirit as opposed to being influenced by the attitudes and beliefs of others. While demonstrative praise is important and within our rights as a believer of Jesus Christ, it is important to know that when Holy Spirit filled people in scripture they did not just run around each other in worship and return home; they were empowered to share the gospel with the intent on seeing souls saved to bring more people into God’s kingdom. The infilling is powerful and necessary (see Ephesians 5:18). The infilling is also possible for all who are saved and available for Holy Spirit to have all of them.

 Pray today:
1. To receive the infilling of Holy Spirit,
2. To live a life that constantly brings glory to God, and
3. To intentionally bring change, salvation and deliverance to those with whom you come in contact who have a need for change, salvation and deliverance in their lives.

After you read and pray throughout the day, be sure to take time to listen for God to respond. Keep a journal to record what you hear Him say.
