Day 6: November 11, 2017

Memory verse: Acts 13: As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

Pray to have a world-view of our missional responsibility
1. So that we can use our resources to actively support those who are on mission for Jesus, both domestic and foreign
2. So that our sisters and brothers who are on mission in dangerous locations can experience the safety and power of God
3. So that we are obedient to the call of God to fulfill our mission for Him, where ever He may lead.

As some of the saints in the church at Antioch were teaching, fasting and praying, they heard the voice of God say it was time for Barnabas and Saul (Paul) to fulfill His purpose for their lives. God did not wait until the men were idle to send them into the world. God did not wait until they were ready to send them into the world. God did not wait until they saved more money to send them into the world. The saints fasted and prayed. God said “go”. The saints fasted and prayed, laid hands on the two servants and sent them away. They understood that disciples are on mission with Jesus.

The mission field is both domestic and foreign. God does not send others, He send us. God will send some across the world. God will send some across the country. God will send some across the state. God will send some across the city. God will send some across the street. The work can be challenging and it can also be dangerous, but it is always rewarding and requires our physical and financial support. Our salvation connects us with missionaries all over the world and across the span of New Testament history. Paul may have planted several churches, but we get to offer people the same Jesus.

It is possible to focus so much on ourselves that we forget our salvation is about The Savior. It is an honor to use our time, talent and treasure to help others know Him as their Savior and Lord. That is why today we are praying to have a world-view of our missional responsibility.
